Premier league team of the week

The Premier League returned with a bang this weekend as the goals flew in up and down the country, with Arsenal maintaining their lead at the top of the table after a convincing 4-1 victory over Norwich.

Manchester United drew with Southampton at Old Trafford as their disappointing start to the season continued, while there were wins for Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham, Everton, Swansea and Fulham, who smashed four past Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Mark Hughes' Stoke City side were held to a 0-0 draw in their meeting with West Brom, and it's the Britannia Stadium where Goal finds our first pick for Team of the Week, with Asmir Begovic (4.5) claiming the spot in goal after a solid showing between the sticks.

In defence, we opt for a system utilising three at the back with Billy Jones (4) getting the nod for helping his West Brom side keep a clean-sheet against Stoke, while Chico Flores (4) also features following Swansea City's hammering of Sunderland.

Dejan Lovren (4) gets his second Team of the Week appearance of the season, with his late headed goal rescuing an unlikely point for Southampton against David Moyes' Red Devils to maintain the Saints' impressive start to the 2013-14 campaign.

Arsenal were once again in imperious form as they smashed four past Norwich, with Mesut Ozil (4) scoring twice, while Aaron Ramsey (4) came off the bench to notch his 11th of the season for club and country.

Eden Hazard (4), who scored twice as Chelsea beat Cardiff City on Saturday, starts on the left wing in Goal's line-up, while Andros Townsend (4) is on the right after scoring his first Premier League goal for Tottenham in their 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye's (4.5) stunning strike in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool ensures he gets a place in central midfield, with the likes of Adam Lallana, David Silva and Yaya Toure all unlucky to miss out.

In attack, Sergio Aguero's (4.5) well-taken double to help Manchester City claim their first away league win of the season at West Ham sees him earn a place alongside Luis Suarez (4), who picked up two assists in Liverpool's draw with Newcastle.
